The city of Heinsberg is located in the center of Europe – or at the utmost Western part of Germany close to the Dutch border. The landscape is characterized by agriculture, forests and heathland. The rivers Rur, Wurm and Schwalm cross the landscape.

Within 30 to 45 minutes you reach the Netherlands and Belgium as well as the larger cities of Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Aachen, Roermond, Sittard, Maastricht and Liège by car.

Those who love to cycle or hike will appreciate the extended network of bicycle and hiking tracks amounting to more than 550 km. Furthermore Heinsberg is touched by the cycle paths RurUfer, NiederRheinroute and 2-Länder-Route which connect Germany and the Netherlands.
All those interested in culture find interesting spots as well. The gothic Probstei church St. Gangolf, the Museum of Arts and Regional History Heinsberg, several windmills and castles nearby or the former coalmine Schacht 3 in Hückelhoven are just a few examples of attractive sightseeing destinations.
The Nato-Air Base Geilenkirchen in situated near the city of Geilenkirchen, 20 minutes away from the guesthouse. The E-3A Component is NATO’s first integrated, multi-national flying unit. Since the flight lane is far from Heinsberg you don´t have to worry about noise produced by the AWACS aircraft.
Downtown Heinsberg offers you a wide variety of shops, boutiques and cafes. Under the slogan “Einkaufsstadt Heinsberg” Hochstraße and Apfelstraße invite you to a relaxed day.
At specific dates the Selfkantbahn gives pleasure to all friends of historic steem trains on the track between Schierwaldenrath-Gillrath.
Very close to the city of Heinsberg you will find the lake Lago Laprello. Either on foot, by bike or on the water… it´s a wonderful place to relax.
